The Eight Legs Collective is an art collective founded by me and four of my friends. We are all passionate individuals with degrees in Illustration and Design united by a shared vision.

We work both individually and together to produce innovative and visually pleasing work accross various mediums, creating designs for prints, pins, badges, t-shirts and more.

Running a small business as a group has presented it’s challenges, but it has also allowed me to grow both my creative practice and my abilities as an administrator.

We currently have a shop set up in Liverpool’s RedBrick Market where we sell our designs to a wide fanbase. We also have an active social media where my peers and I collaborate in different marketing campaigns and adverts to gain a wider audiance.

I took charge of the branding for the Eight Legs Collective, working alsongside the others to achieve the look we were all after. I created the logo and several variants, as well as an alphabet and the packaging for the art pieces.

Below are the working designs of the logo

Logo Variants

Alphabet

To create the Eight Legs alphabet, I first created linocut block prints, stamped and scanned them in, then edited them digitally to create a digital file.

Packaging

We needed packaging that would stand out on the shelves, but also be readable for the people on the RedBrick tills, with the product code and price easily identifyable.
